My 23rd Birthday Party
Okay...okay...a few weeks late, but here you go....
We went out on the 16th, to Auntie Pastas...we meaning 13 people!!! There was Tasha, Lindsey, Jen, Charlie, Kim, Drew, Adam, Daniel, Bavan, Doug, James, and Trinity. There we ate, drank, talked, and had a great time!!! :) It was so fun!!! And there were only two minor issues when we got there...the first being that the restaurant did not remember that I called the day before to tell them that there would be a large party of about 14 coming AND the fact that the side of the restaurant that we were seated on DID NOT HAVE ANY A/C!!! :) (so the hair, that I spent time on, went flat) But other than that...it was no big deal!
Then after my dinner and 2 drinks :) we all packed it up and went to Flash Backs...a pool hall...were Kelly, her man (who I don't remember his name, but he's really nice!...maybe Ryan), Holly, and Bonnie. So we (well, really everyone else but me) began to play pool and I began my drinks...thanks to DOUG!!! :)
We stayed until about 11:30ish and we had soo much fun....I only had 6 drinks and a shot at Flashbacks....we made fun of some people....okay so I lie....a lot of people, but I was just so thrilled that I was able to had all of my friends together and we had a blast....
So there...that was a taste of my birthday celebration!!! :) Hope you enjoy the pictures...Bye

Party tonight....sleep tomorrow
Well, that was the original plan at least! :) I wish there was a way to mix the mood of "Right now I feel...." because I would so put tired right next to excited....maybe I can toggle between the two! :) But that sounds like WAY to much work!! (Just like typing "WAY" that way was very extreme.)
So anyways...last night was a
LONG night.
After coming to an impasse in our negotiations (from class) because we ran out of time, I got to go home to find an email from someone that I haven't talked to in almost 2 weeks because he was mad at me about what happened the weekend I went to the lake. (To refresh your memory on my side of the story, reread the last part of
this.) Well, it ends up that he did not see the humor in any of it, as I did...so long story short, we are now not mad with each other after two weeks of silence...but anyways that ended at about 11:26ish and then when I got home from that I talked to an old friend of my until about 2 something in the morning. So I'm tired to say the least. What I'm hoping and praying for is that Dale (the supervisor) will let me leave at 4 or so, so that I can take a nap. I'M SO OLD!!! :)
The reason for the nap if you haven't already gotten the message is that a HUGE group of my friends are going out to eat tonight (and you are still invited) So far the count is back up to 17!!! This is the biggest birthday celebration that I have been able to be involved in EVER!!! :) So I'm oober excited!
So now you see my dilemma. What is a girl to do? :)
Okay, well it was great talking with you, I'll try to remember to bring my camera and take pictures of tonight's gala!!! Alright, bye for now!!

New Shade of RED
OH MY GOSH!!!! I have discovered a new shade of
RED. Since word got out that it was my birthday....the ENTIRE office came over to my little desk in payroll and sang to me...and I got to hold a single singing candle!!! Balloons, Birthdays, and Sisters....a crazy combo :)
You must know, if you don't know this already, my sister is crazy. You know her...
Michelle....oh, yeah remember her!! :) Well, she's crazy I tell you! But we have this understanding, I guess you could say....we both understand that Birthdays are suppose to be a grand fun outright crazy best time of your life kind-of day!!! :) And that's what it's turning out to be....
So I am sitting at my desk, hardly able to breathe because I ate too much at lunch, but acting like it is just another ordinary day at good ol' SFA, when this man comes around the corner with the biggest grin on his face and he's holding....I know, you'll never guess....
BALLOONS!!! Blue, Green, Yellow....you know just this mixture of colors that pop (well not pop...but you know what I mean!!) when you look at them. I smile back as he asks...."So, you Melinda?"....and in a shy response, I utter..."Um...yes sir." He hands me the embarrassing bundle of
BALLOONS and says "Happy Birthday." At about that same time, like moths to a flame, the two ladies at the other end of the office yell out, "Is it your birthday today??", as they come walking towards me...I sheepishly respond yes as I open the card that is attached to the balloons to find out that my sister was the culprit!
So long story short, my sister's devious plan of letting the whole office know that it was my birthday worked....along with the rest of the school!! :) So if you want to see these beautiful
BALLOONS come by today....or tomorrow, because they will still be here. (You see I have class tonight and there is no way that I'm leaving these in my hot car or carrying them around with me to a MBA class!!)
But in all truthfulness, we all know that I LOVE attention. So it's all just fine with me!! :) Oh, and the invite is still out if you want to come tomorrow night, I have notified the restaurant that I need a table for at least 14 people, but we can easily squeeze in a lot more!! :)
So now my mission is to get her good for her birthday!!! It's October 17th....any good suggestions??? Oh...and when is your birthday?? :)

Okay here is the truth: you, me, and a couple of our closest friends will be going to dinner (and drinks if you’re allowed) Thursday night. So come one and all!!! As I approach another birthday, I long for the days when life was easy and simple....so my birthday wish for this year is to not get too old too fast. So the following are things that I will never be to old to do!! :)

Sunburn Update
To all concerned parties:
My skin has begun the healing process quite nicely; my arms, legs, and belly are beginning to turn into a nice tan color. My forehead and nose are finishing up peeling and I feel good!! :) The extra bumps and bruises are beginning to go away and heal. So hopefully, by the 15th I will look really nice! ;) But thank you all for worrying....I can tell by the number of comments how my health affects your daily life!! :) (Can you hear the sarcasm dripping from that comment??)

Burnt and Loving it!!!!
So I should start by apologizing that it has been a week or so since last insight into my life....but I've been a little anti-computer....you see I still haven't finished my tax paper and I feel guilty when I sit at the computer, so in order to not feel as guilty....I just don't sit at the computer...I do other things, like go to a surprise party on a Friday night....Well at least that's how this weekend started....
So it all started Thursday afternoon when my MOTHER called me to let me know about how there was in the works a surprise going away party for a great old friend of mine. :) And the non-spontaneous person like myself decided that it would be nice if I went...so at 3:40ish Friday afternoon I talked myself into going and I dragged a friend along with me down to Houston with the promise of coming back to Nac mid-Saturday morning...
So we drove down, I dropped him off at his friends house, and I went straight to the party, which had already started. Met up with some people that I miss dearly and forgot how much I love these people....One of the topics of conversation was going to the Lake, but due to the fact that I had a passenger in the car with me, I knew that it looked doubtful that I could go. So, we stayed there and talked until about 2:30ish I got Dawn to spend the night and before we knew it we were awoken at 8am by the alarm that we set the night before.
I got going and called to ask the passenger if it was okay to stay an extra day in Houston while I went to the Lake, and he, to my shock said for me to go ahead!!! So I called Mike, then Brian, and then Dawn to let them know that I was SO IN!!! So then 30 minutes later we are on the road to Corsicana, when I noticed that I only had 3 battery bars left on my phone. And of course when I packed I didn't factor in the spontaneous trip to the lake so I didn't have my charger...so what do I do, I say a quick prayer hoping that no one calls....but you see I guess I didn't say it soon enough because by the time that I said "Amen" I received the first of 4 calls. :) So it's easy to assume that by the time that we were up there my battery died on me!!! :)
So the four of us (Dawn, Brian, Mike, and myself) spent the rest of the day out on the lake having the time of our lives. We rode on the boat, did some tubing (or however that's spelled), while they were fishing I got to be captain, and I got to drive the JET SKI!!!! It was so much fun and I had the biggest smile on my face!!! Saturday night, we took a "boat cruise" and checked out all the lake houses that were huge and then we went a Tiki Bar for dinner. After that we tried to talked for most of the night...well at least until the boys passed out and then Dawn and I decided to go to bed also...
I woke up Sunday morning at 9 and was able to get some reading in for my class...so yes, I did bring homework with me. So then about by 10:30ish everyone was awake, we decided to go back out on the lake to go fishing. The boys had some issues getting the boat started, but after some coaxing it fired up and we were out there. After some fishing time, aka sun time for me, the boat die (ran out of gas). So Brain and I got to swim to the wall, now granted it wasn't that far away, but it was far enough....and then we had to some how get up and over the wall. But we made it, got the gas, and I drove it out to Dawn and Mike on the Jet Ski (2x's on the Jet Ski now!!).
We drove everything back to the house, thinking that we were going to leave when we remembered that Brian had not been able to go on the tube, so Mike and I talked Brian into getting more gas for the boat while Dawn and I cleaned up. So they did that and we went back out!!! It was SO MUCH FUN!!!! :)
So we left at about 3ish maybe...honestly I didn't know the time much if any during the entire weekend...got back to Houston, so the that I could turn around and drive to Nac.
Oh...I forgot to tell you one of funniest parts, but also one of the saddest points too was what happened to my original passenger. Well if you recall, my phone died, and I didn't think until later (on my way back to Nac) that you can call from another phone to check your voicemail. So on the way back to Houston, I called my mom on Dawn's phone to learn that Daniel, my passenger, had freaked out, called my mom, came by my folk’s house, and ended up going back to Nac with another friend. Oops!! On the way back to Nac, as I was finally charging my phone, I called my voicemail to discover 11 new voicemails, 8 of them were from Daniel, 2 from my Mom and 1 from another friend....they all were hilarious!!!
So, in conclusion, we all had a great time, I am burned, but it was worth it!!!
Oh....and yes, I bruise like a peach! HA!!! :)
