All Thumbs
So I live on the North side of town and work on the West/Southwest side. There are multiple ways that I could drive into work, and depending on where I’m going that week I could actually drive a different way to work every day. Well this week I’m downtown, so I went a way that I normally don’t go but I like going this way because the drivers, normally, are so much nicer because they are paying to drive on the road. (Which I know sounds odd but honestly, people are nicer drivers if they aren’t sitting in traffic are paying to drive.) Well anyways, I’m driving on said road and I guess that I didn’t see the guy or I caused him to tap his breaks or something along that line because I made him a little mad/unhappy with him. So much that he pulled up on my right side and gave me a very spirited double-thumb thumb’s up. Seriously…his thumbs, and then he stayed on my right side, which prohibited me from changing lanes, until he exited. This then proves my theory that people are nicer when paying for road usage, because honestly if we were on a Freeway, I would probably have been flicked off, honked at, and subsequently killed. I recounted this story for my team when I finally did make it out to the clients, and my manager thinks that it was probably due to the fact that he liked my new car and that I’m too nice of a driver to have cut him off! Honestly, I don’t know if she’s ever seen me drive. :)So are you a nicer driver if you have to pay?
